The long-awaited rematch between Tyson Fury and Alexander Usyk will take place in December
Oleksandr Usyk has earned recognition by defeating such notable fighters as Dereck Chisora, Anthony Joshua twice and Daniel Dubois. His most recent significant victory over Tyson Fury in May this year was a sensation. Since then, Fury has been looking for a rematch to prove his superiority. Fury dominated the first half of the fight, taking advantage of his physical advantages, but Usyk was able to turn the tide of the fight in the ninth round, sending the "Gypsy King" to the floor. The victory allowed Usyk to become one of the few fighters to achieve undisputed status in two weight classes in the four-belt era, joining Terence Crawford and Naoya Inoue.
Tyson Fury, who comes from a boxing dynasty, has been immersed in the world of boxing since childhood. At the age of ten, he began to seriously engage in the sport under the guidance of his father. His rise to the top of boxing was meteoric: EU Junior Champion in 2007, ABA National Champion in 2008, and turned pro the same year, aged 20. The two-time world heavyweight champion is unbeaten in 35 professional fights, with the exception of a draw with Deontay Wilder in 2018 and a loss to Usyk. Fury has over 11 million followers on social media, and his life outside the ring has been the subject of a Netflix documentary series, which has been renewed for a second season after a successful debut in 2023.
The rematch between Fury and Usyk is important not only for Saudi Arabia, which is actively developing the sport, but also for the entire world community.
