Anzor Arsenovich Zakuev is a Russian freestyle wrestler, national champion and international master of sports. He was born on June 30, 1997 in Kabardino-Balkaria. His acquaintance with wrestling began in early childhood: at the age of six, Anzor began training under the guidance of his father Arsen Zakuev, who became his first mentor. Subsequently, the athlete began representing the Republic of Crimea at all-Russian competitions.

The first noticeable successes came to Zakuev in 2012. He won a local freestyle wrestling tournament dedicated to the memory of the people's poet of Kabardino-Balkaria Kaisyn Kuliev, performing in the weight category up to 54 kg. This result was one of the first steps towards a professional sports career.

In 2016, Anzor Zakuev won a silver medal at the Russian Junior Championship. Despite the defeat in the final, he got the opportunity to compete for the Russian team at the European Championships in Germany. The athlete successfully took advantage of the opportunity and became the winner of the continental tournament. In 2019, Zakuev took second place at the international tournament in memory of Dan Kolov and Nikol Petrov in Bulgaria, and then helped the Russian team achieve victory in the team competition of the World Cup in Yakutsk.

In 2022, the wrestler became a finalist in the prestigious Grand Prix tournament “Ivan Yarygin” in Krasnoyarsk and the Russian Championship in Kyzyl. Another important achievement was the victory at the Russian Championship in May 2024. In the final fight, Zakuev defeated Magoma Dibirgadzhiev and won the national title.

The performances of Anzor Zakuev demonstrate perseverance, technical training and desire for new sporting heights. On our website you can buy tickets for events with the participation of an athlete and follow the current competition poster.
