Max Holloway is a renowned American mixed martial artist who competes in the featherweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). He is a former UFC champion in this weight class and a former BMF title holder. Holloway is currently ranked second in the official UFC featherweight rankings and ninth in the lightweight rankings. He is also ranked among the top ten pound-for-pound fighters in the UFC.

On December 10, 2016, at UFC 206, Holloway defeated Anthony Pettis by knockout, earning him the interim featherweight championship belt. On June 3, 2017, at UFC 212, which took place in Brazil, Max defeated reigning champion Jose Aldo by knockout in the third round to win the championship. In December of that year, at UFC 218 in Detroit, he faced Aldo again and knocked him out again in the third round, successfully defending his title.

On December 9, 2018, at UFC 231 in Toronto, Max faced undefeated challenger Brian Ortega. Holloway dominated throughout the fight, and after the fourth round, the doctor stopped the fight, allowing Max to retain his championship belt. On April 13, 2019, he fought Dustin Poirier for the interim UFC lightweight championship, but lost by unanimous decision.

On July 27, 2019, Holloway again defended his featherweight title against Frankie Edgar. However, on December 15 of that year, he lost the belt to Alexander Volkanovski. In the rematch on July 11, 2020, Max lost by split decision.
