Ilia Topuria is a talented mixed martial artist representing both Spain and Georgia. He competes in the featherweight division of the UFC and has already won the divisional title. Ilia's UFC career began rapidly. He made his debut on October 11, 2020, at UFC Fight Night: Morais vs. Sandhagen in Abu Dhabi, replacing Korean Choi Sung-woo and defeating Youssef Zalal by unanimous decision. Less than two months later, on December 5, 2020, at UFC on ESPN: Hermansson vs. Vettori, Topuria recorded his first stoppage victory, knocking out Damon Jackson in 2 minutes and 38 seconds.
In 2021, Iliya continued his winning streak, defeating Ryan Hall via knockout at UFC 264. Despite several fights being canceled in 2022 due to various reasons, Topuria continued to show impressive results. At UFC Fight Night: Volkov vs. Aspinall, he scored a spectacular victory over Jay Herbert, for which he received his first Performance of the Night bonus.
In 2023, Iliya faced Josh Emmett at UFC on ABC: Emmett vs. Topuria and won the fight via unanimous decision, earning him his third Fight of the Night bonus. The highlight of his career came on February 17, 2024, at UFC 298, where Topuria defeated Alexander Volkanovski to win the UFC featherweight title.
