Russian promoters have managed to reach a preliminary agreement with Al ash-Sheikh. The key argument was the desire of the boxers themselves - Bivol and Beterbiev - to hold the final fight of their confrontation in the Russian capital.

Let's recall the history of their fierce rivalry: on October 12, 2024, the first fight took place, in which Beterbiev won by a majority decision. On February 22, 2025, Bivol won the rematch. Interestingly, the judges' scorecards in the second fight turned out to be a mirror image of the first - with the same score, but in Bivol's favor. As a result, both boxers became absolute light heavyweight champions once. However, this status will not be played out in the third fight: Bivol, focusing on the trilogy, refused to defend the mandatory WBC title and was stripped of the belt several months ago.

Despite the absence of all the championship belts that were at stake in the first two meetings, the third fight between Bivol and Beterbiev will certainly be a grand event for Russian boxing.
