Petr Yan's victory and the fight between Emelianenko and Datsik: the main news of March in the UFC
The UFC 299 tournament has ended and there our former UFC champion in the lightest weight (up to 61 kg) Russian Petr Yan defeated the Chinese athlete Song Yadong by unanimous decision of the judges. This victory was the first since the fall of 2021, then at UFC 267 he also defeated the American Cory Sandhagen by unanimous decision after 5 rounds. After that, he lost three fights to Aljamain Sterling, Sean O'Malley, Merab Dvalishvili.
At the press conference, Petr shared that he could not show 100 percent, because he was diagnosed with a torn cruciate ligament, a groin injury and a torn meniscus. There will soon be an operation to resolve these issues, and then a long rehabilitation, which can last from six to nine months. But the fighter intends to have three more fights before the end of the year, everything will depend on his physical condition.
The most anticipated fight of April will be the meeting of Alexander Emelianenko against Vyacheslav Datsik, which will take place as part of the Ural F7 tournament. This will be a rematch after Alexander's loss in 2022, when Datsik "put" his opponent on the ring in the 13th second of the first round. This fight will be the first for Emelianenko after a long rehabilitation in Ingushetia.
