Description

The Krylya Sovetov universal sports complex is a historical site in Moscow, which is the oldest of its kind and was built in 1934 by the AVIAKHIM plant. The complex is located in the Begovaya district of the Northern Administrative District of Moscow, at the address: Moscow, Leningradsky Prospekt, building 24A.

The Krylia Sovetov arenas host tournaments in various martial arts, including boxing, Muay Thai, kickboxing and mixed martial arts. Events are also held here, such as the White Square film awards ceremony.

The universal sports complex “Wings of the Soviets” is located almost in the center of Moscow and at a distance of 4 km from Red Square. The nearest metro station is Belorusskaya, which is located at a distance of approximately 800 m from the sports complex.

However, the real history of the Wings of the Soviets lies in a special building - the Great Domed Hall, built in the 1930s. This hall is an outstanding engineering creation of its time and was built by famous architects L.L. Lurie, N.A. Metelin and V.S. Minakov on the site of the pre-revolutionary buildings of the merchant P. P. Ryabushinsky.

The wooden domed covering of the Great Domed Hall is a prominent feature from the 1930s and is included in the World History of Architectural Encyclopedia.

Despite the fact that the hall was created for a different purpose, today training and events in a wide variety of sports take place in its open spaces. USC “Wings of the Soviets” is a historical, but at the same time modern complex that is ready to provide everyone with the best conditions for playing sports. If you want to enjoy the beauty of this unique sports facility and spend your free time for the benefit of your health, do not miss the chance to visit the Krylya Sovetov Universal Sports Complex!
