Description
The Sarhadchi Olympic Sports Center, located in the Khatai district of Baku, is a significant facility of the State Border Service of Azerbaijan. Opened in 2009, the complex can accommodate up to 3,250 spectators and occupies an area of 3 hectares. The center includes a universal three-story hall with a dome 53 meters in diameter, two outdoor sports grounds, a swimming pool, a car park and a hotel with 32 rooms.
The center has hosted such significant events as the 2010 World Junior Boxing Championships and the 2014 European Taekwondo Championships. The center is equipped with modern facilities: wrestling and martial arts halls, coaches' rooms, a doctor's office, as well as halls for intellectual games and conferences.
The center's outdoor areas are designed for basketball, volleyball, handball and tennis training, with stands for 1,550 seats. The football field seats 1,850 spectators.
In addition to sports events, it hosts matches of the Azerbaijan Basketball Championship and other significant events, such as the Azerbaijan Paralympic Bocce Championship "Seni Cup 2024".
